DVD Review – “Dora the Explorer: Explore the Earth!”

Every Kind of Mom.com Rating:  5 out of 5 Stars

Dora the Explorer:  Explore the Earth!
(Scheduled release April 13, 2010)

My kids love Dora, so it was no trouble to ask them to watch this with me. This particular DVD was put together specifically for release in time for Earth Day on April 22, 2010, and what I love most about this particular Dora the Explorer release is that it continues to help my kids learn new things in an interactive way.  They  learn the different seasons and environments, learn about animals in different parts of the world, utilize problem-solving skills, and even pick up a little Spanish along the way.  This newest DVD also offers some special features from the adorable pair “Moose and Zee”, in addition to the four new episodes that include the following:

  • Mixed-Up Seasons – Dora and Boots find a snowman at the beach during summer, and have to help correct the mixed-up seasons.
  • To the South Pole - Help Dora, Boots, and Diego talk to lots of animals and ride on a plane, a boat, and even a snowmobile to bring a lost penguin back to his family in the snowy South Pole
  • Save Diego – Diego is an Animal Rescuer, but in this adventure, the animals need to help rescue him instead! Join Dora, Boots, and the animals of the rainforest to help save Diego!
  • Beaches – Dora and Boots need to cross crab-infested sand dunes and a broken boardwalk to find Boots’ floatie so he can swim in the ocean.

Special Features:

  • Moose and Zee “Explore the Seashore”
  • Moose and Zee “In My Neighborhood”

This is one of the better collections of Dora’s new episodes and my kids absolutely loved it.  It’s available
