Having a garage/yard sale is exhausting, and its a real drag to spend the whole day in your yard having people haggle over a quarter and still have a bunch of stuff left over at the end. I will never have that problem again. The sad thing is, it took my 12 year old to teach me this lesson. You see, although my stuff is technically worth more, its only worth what the people who show up are willing to pay for it. I already knew that, but I kept thinking I’d rather give it away than sell it for too little… WHY??? I shouldn’t care whether or not its worth more. I am trying to get rid of it, and it needs to go at any price.
This stunning revelation about learning to let go of my things came when I took a ten minute break to make the littlest children some breakfas,t and my oldest child volunteered to take over. I gave her simple instructions and told her if she had any questions to pop her head in and ask. In that ten minutes, she managed to sell my Pack-n-Play portable crib (perfect condition), two nice strollers, some clothes, some large toy sets and a couple other things… for a grand total of $16 — OUCH!
After the initial shock I realized that, although I would have sold that Pack-n-Play for more than $3 (sigh…), she did what I should have been doing all along. Making the most of your garage sale means selling things cheap, so that at the end of the day you have nothing left. Nothing I had was overpriced compared to other yard sales, but towards the end of the day I did what my daughter did and, in doing so, sold some things I never thought I’d get rid of. You see, if it’s priced right and someone wants it, it will be sold. But, if its priced extremely low, people will buy it even if they don’t need it. It’s a concept I already knew, but the really expensive items I had a hard time letting go of.
I will be doing just one more next month so my kids can sell lemonade. But this time, everything will be priced lower than I’ve ever had it — and I expect to make and get rid of more than ever!

I consider the initial time I visited your website, it was like magic.
Kudos for building this blog post! I genuinely understand the no cost information.
Do you mind if I use your site as a source in my paper? Thx! Jessi
Some things are left better unsaid in my opinion
But…Any more updates? I come here a lot and the only complaint I have is I want more to read
