If you have carpet in your rug or carpet all is not lost. You can get it out. It just takes a little patience and a little elbow grease. I thought I was going to have to throw out my favorite area rug, and I hadn’t attempted to clean up the massive amounts of dried Play-Doh because I assumed it to be too daunting of a task. Turns out, its pretty simple. If you have Play-Doh in your carpet, you can get it out too, just by trying these three simple solutions:
1. Try to brush it off. Wait until the Play-Doh is dry and then using a stiff scrub brush, loosen the Play-Doh and break it up until it is ready to be vacuumed. You can also try using a fork to lift, wriggle and poked at it gently until it loosens up. Most of the Play-Doh should come up, and what’s left over can be usually removed by the next two attempts
2. Try Dish Soap and Water. Dish soap is gently so blotting your Play-Doh with a mix of this should bring it up since Play-Doh is a water initially a water based product to start with. I say blot, but lets get real… I scrubbed because I’m impatient. I didn’t do much damage to my rug.
3. Use a Stronger Cleaner. Technically, you shouldn’t use products like “Goo-Gone” or any other multi-purpose gunk remover as they will loosen the pile, cause the carpet to separate from its backing and may cause discoloration. Again, the reality is I did it anyway for a few stubborn spots and my carpet now looks great with no real casualty.
That’s it. Options 1 and 2 are the best, but if you must use Option 3 be forewarned about ruining part of your carpet. It’s a little more risky, but if you thought your carpet was ruined, think again! Who knew getting Play-Doh out of carpet could actually happen?

keep it cooming man i love it
