Fad Diet Favorites — The Hollywood Diet
The Hollywood Diet. Hmmm…. where should I begin?
This so-called diet is a big fat waste of time. It claims to be an exclusive “Miracle Juice” Some scientifically formulated liquid that can, in only 48 hours, will cleanse your body and lose up to 10 pounds. You can buy a large plastic container of it and drink it for 2 days… it will cost about $25.
Are you Kidding me? Twenty-five bucks for juice? First of all, as far as my knowledge and consultations with real doctors and scientists, it isn’t even physiologically possible for your body to do that. So if you do lose 10 pounds you will likely just have been severly dehydrated, and maybe cleaned out your colon from not eating, but you definitely haven’t lost the fat. In fact, you will probably lose some muscle and your metabolism will slow down, making the next round of eating prime for even more weight gain.
Did I mention how much it costs?
Here are some of the ingredients:
- water
- fructose
- pineapple juice
- orange juice
- apple juice
- prune juice
- white grape juice
- lemon juices juice
- extracts of bilberry
- green tea extract
- ginkgo biloba
- grapeseed extract
I actually did do this when it first came out long ago. I bought a bottle, and when I got home I looked at the ingredients. I should have done that in the store I guess, because boy was I ticked off that I just spent that much money on a bottle of juice that would last only 2 days.
I’m sorry, if I’m going to spend 25 dollars on modified juice, I can mix my own concoction for much cheaper. Totally Ridiculous!

You know an odd feeling? Sitting on the toilet eating a chocolate candy bar.
