Hearing that Madonna was going to perform at the Super Bowl I was a little interested. Having grown up during her “Like a Virgin” days I kind of thought maybe she put on a spectacular show. Boy was I disappointed. In fact, I was really, really bored, and my teenage daughter was too.
So why all the praise about such a “fantastic” performance?

There are many perks to having a child, but the weight accompanying most women’s pregnancies isn’t one of them. I am impressed by the Real Housewives of Orange County’s Tamra Barney and her decision to remove her large breast implants in favor of going au naturel. Yes, she still had a breast lift, but the fact remains that the woman – now in her early forties – has had an epiphany of which many other women should take heed. Breast implants – especially large ones – can have a variety of health and comfort complications that aren’t worth the benefit, and many women are having them removed, too.
I am sickened by the claim from Penn State’s Assistant Coach that he helped stop the child molestation being perpetrated by former Penn State Coach Jerry Sandusky. Do you know why?
For those of you who have been a little out of the loop on the Penn State scandal, let me give you a short background. Former coach Jerry Sandusky has been charged with multiple counts of child sex abuse over several years, leading to the resignation of at least two members, the firing of the Penn State President, and the firing of legendary coach Joe Paterno. That’s it in a nutshell, but what really gets me is why no one stopped it.
As retailers gear up for one of the largest shopping weekends of the year, stores who traditionally opened early on Black Friday will be starting their specials even earlier this year: on Thanksgiving.
The store openings and specials have been starting earlier and earlier each year. Now Wal-Mart has revealed their Black Friday specials, some of which will begin at 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving night. Target bumped its opening up this year too, opting to open at midnight. Best Buy, Macys and Kohls (see Kohls printable coupons) are also opening early this year, and I’m wondering when its all going to end.
