I have a bone to pick with Blue Mountain Cards (e-cards/greetings). For those of you who come across them, be forewarned that they have a history of charging credit cards without authorization, not honoring cancellations, and providing no real customer service whatsoever. I signed up for their free trial (bluemountain. com) and as usual, they have you sign up with a credit card that rolls over to initial and annual automatic billing if you do not cancel before your free trial ends. Although I used the e-card service once, after browsing the site I didn’t think it was a product that I was going to be using again. Realizing this, I canceled a few days before my trial ended. In fact, just to be sure, I went to their site and went through their cancellation link, as well as clicking on the one provided in my email.

Done. I canceled — or so I thought.

My card was charged anyway, and now I’m ticked off.

After visiting the Blue Mountain website to find some sort of customer service, I emailed them my issue and was issued a generic automatic response that didn’t really even address my question. I tried two more times, re-wording and asking for a human response. I got the same auto-respond message and started search for a phone number to call. That was over a week ago.

I also found a phone number to contact them, but it wasn’t good for anything. It was just a computer prompting me to push this and that and gave no option for any type of living person. I called several times, pushing difference buttons thinking that I might at least be able to leave a message somewhere. NOTHING.

When it comes right down to it, Blue Mountain offered no recourse or resolution whatsoever for errant billing or problems with cancellations for their services. If Blue Mountain has made available complaint resolution on their site somewhere, they have made it so hard to find that most people would just give up. Upon researching via search engine to see if anyone else has had these problems, I found hundreds (and more) of people complaining about Blue Mountain’s lack of customer service, being a rip-off when it comes to credit card charges, and a host of cancellation problems and issues.

I have filed a dispute with the bank/card carrier, and have reported them to the Better Business Bureau. I have also found out that Blue Mountain is a part of American Greetings, so shame on them too! If you have been a victim of this abuse and have your own complaint about Blue Mountain, please take 5 minutes to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau . They don’t deserve a good rating and consumers should be warned.

Blue Mountain has bad/no customer service, charges cards without authorization and has a horrible cancellation process that doesn’t work — and then they bill you anyway without recourse.

Share your bad experiences by commenting or sharing this post with others. In my opinion, the way their site is set up is not a “mistake” on their part. They should do business right or not at all!
